Kalisch Acero was founded in 1979 in the capital city of Chihuahua, Chihuahua. We started with a steel commercialization project, later we added a range of tools and hardware, in addition to steel cutting and bending. In Mexico we have offices in the states of Chihuahua, Sonora, Sinaloa, Durango, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, and Zacatecas, and in 2009 we started operations in El Paso, Texas with the opening of Kalisch Steel.
In Kalisch Acero we have state of the art machinery, innovative equipment, and talent development helping us strengthen the relation with our clients and provide the best service. Our code of conduct and standards are based on our values, and we are constantly striving to be a sustainable company, committed to our community.

OUR BEGINNINGS …
Engineer Samuel Kalish started this story in the city of Chihuahua, selling black metal sheets. Thanks to his effort, determination, and focus, this project materialized, and was the starting point for Kalisch Acero.

THE FIRST STEP
On July 24, our organization was established under the name Kalisch Fierro y Acero, S.A. de C.V. starting operations in the Chuvíscar Store, in the city of Chihuahua, Chihuahua. That is how we took the first step of the road we were forging.

AT THE CAPITAL OF THE BIG STATE
Following the vision of Engineer Samuel Kalisch, we started expanding in the state of Chihuahua with the operation of the Colegio Militar and Flores Magón stores.

MOVING THE BORDER
In the 1990s, the growth strategy shifted towards the state of Chihuahua border, and we started operations in Ciudad Juarez with the Oscar Flores, Granjero, Aztecas, and Zaragoza stores. Thus, our expansion started, together with huge challenges.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Thanks to the team’s labor and effort, we obtained a solid quality control, helping us to attain the ISO 9001 certification in the late 1990s. With this certification we managed to optimize our processes, seeking to provide the best service to our customers.

EXPANSION, AND ONE OF THE BEST PLACES TO WORK
We continued our route within the country and started operations in the states of Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, and Sonora. We were awarded the Great Place to Work Certification for the first time in 2007, due to being a company concerned about constructing successful, high-trust relations with its collaborators.

EXPLORING AND DIVERSIFYING
Aimed at meeting the needs of our clients, we launched Kalisch Insumos with an extensive hardware and tooling portfolio for all industries.

INTERNATIONALIZATION
Aiming at new markets, we decided to venture into the American territory, taking a great step in our expansion plans with the start of operations in the United States, opening Kalisch Steel in El Paso, Texas.

WE CONTINUE GROWING
Our growth in Mexico did not stop, and thanks to the splendid work and commitment of our collaborators, we continue expanding our operations into the states of Sinaloa, Durango, and Zacatecas. The Kalisch Acero team becomes stronger in the country.

BENDING STEEL
Kalisch Habilitados was born in Nogales, Sonora, with the fabrication of dowel baskets for the Hermosillo-Nogales highway, thus we entered a new market, increasing Kalisch Acero’s value proposition to its clients.

ADDING AND ADVANCING
We continue innovating and our Kalisch Habilitados division became Besthal. Another milestone this year was attaining the Empresa Socialmente Responsable (ESR) (Socially Responsible Company) distinction thanks to Kalisch Acero’s social, economic, and environmental commitment.

ANOTHER TRANSFORMATION
Kalisch Insumos had a solid beginning of the year, adopting a new identity with our brand, BoxTool. With this transformation we extend our tooling and hardware product portfolio to address new customers, segments, and trades, and we also have coverage in all Mexico through our online store, www.boxtool.mx.
